Homo Sapiens is a primate species that is easily manipulated and driven by its dark inner side. Ignorance, fear of the other, provincialism, the inability to look deeply – the perfect kindling to fuel the fires of ambitious dictators. Their triumph of will and the charm of their shamelessness captivate the masses, making them wet themselves at the prospect of a savior who will solve all their problems, who speaks ill of your neighbors, your originals, or people in a more difficult situation, who promises you quick results and a fun witch-hunt.
Preachers with three wives and dozens of lovers rant about family values and reproductive rights, and label and bully those who have learned something. The strength of the word, the reputation, the telling of the truth go straight to the dustbin of history. The bubbles of social networks, the dumbing-down of TikTok, the algorithms that protect liars, have shot out at humanity at the worst possible moment. We are in an ideocracy and will probably burn in the flames of WWIII. At least the tipping point is visible.
How many of the 46 former US Presidents do you think have been found guilty of 34 charges, or have any criminal record at all, and have a pile of cases pending, including charges of attempting to overthrow a democratic government and of attempting to exert direct pressure on the electoral fraud? Answer: 1.
Fans of the American dream, dazzled by the “he’s rich, he’ll make us rich” (because that’s how it works, isn’t it?) middle-American wrestling-style fans of the cheapest possible show, with a performance in front of a McDonalds barbecue and a garbage truck, the admiring voting American people, and, even more bizarrely, the American women, have forgotten to turn on their memories and remember what a fiasco the first term of the orange genius ended up. That is to say, the inability to cope with the deadly pandemic crisis, the atypical statements, the attempt to hide the fact that he had contracted Covid and the clandestine supply of the missing medical equipment to the dictator of Ruzzia. I will not even mention how he screwed up trying to negotiate with Kim Jong Un, the results of which we are seeing today with North Korea’s aid to the Kremlin in the form of missiles, ammunition and cannon meat.
After appointing three conservative Supreme Court justices for life, one of whom was accused of sexual assault at the time of his appointment, Trump is likely to be able to appoint a couple more conservatives in the new term, thus locking in a decades-long barrier to any more progressive change or reform in the country. A man who cannot concentrate on reading a couple of pages, who has publicly said that he dreams of becoming a dictator, if only for a day, returns to the most powerful post on earth with a long list of enemies, the full support of majorities in the Senate and Congress, and a decimated opposition in the Republican Party. Donald’s most loyal lieutenants in arms, JD Vance, Elon Musk and Chris Tucker, are complete vatnik. The best friend, who is mentioned in all the speeches you do not need to hear, is Hungary’s disgrace, Viktor Orban.
Even the fact that Trump, by a personal decision, had stopped funding arms to Ukraine for almost half a year, with colossal consequences on today’s crumbling war front, did not stop the voters. The whole Hollywood, including Harrison Ford, Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger and Julia Roberts, has spoken out AGAINST Trump. It is not for nothing that people risk losing half their fans, because they see a huge threat that should be obvious to anyone who has read the history books.
The only consolation is that the new US frontman is limited by age and one presidential term, but I have little doubt that he will try to break the latter limitation or hand over power to someone in his family.
